Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: When you sign in with Google, LinkedIn, or create an email account, we collect your email address and display name.
• Job postings: Text you paste or capture via our Chrome extension for analysis. This content is processed by Anthropic's Claude AI and may be cached to improve performance.
• Resumes: If you upload a resume, the extracted text is stored securely and used to provide fit scoring, tailoring, skills extraction, and cover letter generation.
• Skills & career data: Skills extracted from your resumes, career path goals, and learning plan preferences are stored to power your career intelligence features.
• Job preferences: Work location, salary, clearance, and other preferences you set are used to filter and warn on job matches.
• Usage data: We track AI insight usage (daily and monthly) to manage tier limits.
• Chrome extension: When you click the JobClarity AI extension button, job posting text is read from the active browser tab and sent to our servers for analysis. The extension does not collect data in the background or access pages without your explicit action.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide job posting analysis and resume fit scoring
• To manage your account and subscription
• To improve our pattern database through community reports you voluntarily submit
• To process payments via Stripe (we never store your card details)

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Your data is shared only with:

• Anthropic — job posting text is sent to Claude AI for analysis
• Supabase — our database provider stores your account and resume data
• Stripe — processes subscription payments
• Google — if you sign in with Google, your basic profile is shared per Google's OAuth policy
• LinkedIn — if you sign in with LinkedIn, your name and email are shared per LinkedIn's OIDC policy
• Resend — sends transactional emails (admin verification, notifications)

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security enabled. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth with industry-standard JWT tokens. Session tokens expire after 30 days.

5. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@jobclarity.ai. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Cookies & Sessions

We use browser-based session tokens (not tracking cookies) to keep you logged in. These tokens are managed by Supabase Auth and expire after 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

JobClarity AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Recruiter Data Sharing & Consent

We are building features that will allow recruiters to discover candidates. Your data is never shared with recruiters unless you explicitly opt in.

• Default: everything off. Your profile, skills, fit scores, career path, and activity are private until you choose otherwise.
• You control what recruiters see. Four independent toggles in your profile settings let you share: skills profile, fit scores, career path, and activity — each on or off independently.
• No sharing without toggles enabled. If all toggles are off, recruiters cannot find you, see your data, or contact you through JobClarity AI.
• Revocable at any time. Turn off any toggle and your data is immediately hidden from recruiters.

9. Anonymized & Aggregate Data

We may use anonymized, aggregate data (skill trends, market patterns, career movement) to provide market intelligence. No individual user is identifiable in aggregate data. This does not require opt-in because no personal information is included.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
